कोपा अमेरिकामा चिलीले इतिहास रच्यो


काठमाडौ-आयोजक चिलीले पहिलो पटक कोपा अमेरिकाको उपाधि उचालेको छ। आइतबार विहानभएको खेलमा अर्जेन्टिनालाई पेनाल्टी सुटआउटमा ४-१ ले हराउँदै उपाधि दर्ता गरेको हो। निर्धारित ९० मिनट र थप ३० मिनेटको थप समयमा पनि कुनै गोल हुन सकेन।

लियोनल मेसीको नेतृत्वमा २२ वर्षपछि ठूलो उपाधि उचाल्ने उद्देश्य लिएको अर्जेन्टिना फेरी मैदानमा चुकेको छ।
गत वर्ष विश्वकपफाइनलमा जर्मनीसँग पराजय भोगेको अर्जेन्टिनाले करिब १२ महिनापछि अर्को ठूलो उपाधि जित्ने अवसर प्राप्त गरेको थियो।
१९९३ पछि उपाधिविहीन अर्जेन्टिनालाई जिताउँदै मेसीलाई राष्ट्रका लागि पहिलो उपाधि दिलाउने अवसर भए पनि उन मैदानमा फेरि चुकेका छन्।
त्यस्तै चौथोपल्ट फाइनलमा पुगेको घरेलु टोली ९९ वर्षे इतिहासमा पहिलोपल्ट कोपा अमेरिकामा आफ्नो इतिहास रच्यो।

Lleyton Hewitt is out of the Washington Open
Lleyton Hewitt was eliminated by Feliciano Lopez in his last ever match at the Washington Open on Wednesday night.
The veteran won the tournament in 2004 but, as his career winds down ahead of the next Australian Open when he will retire, ended his Washington association for good as Lopez ran out 4-6 7-5 6-3 winner in their second-round match.
Hewitt, a former Wimbledon and US Open champion, was handed a wild card in the capital of the United States but couldn't usurp the seventh-seeded Spaniard.

Andy Murray was handed a shock defeat by world No 53 Teymuraz Gabashvili in the Washington Open second round on Wednesday night.
The British No 1's hard court preparations for the US Open got off to the worst possible start when, having been seeded first and handed a bye for the first round, he was handed a 6-4 4-6 7-6 upset.
Murray was never allowed to settle by the hard-serving Gabashvili, who blasted 11 aces and broke late in the third set before holding his nerve in the tie-break for his finest victory of the season.

साविकको उपविजेता नेपाल समूह बीमा अफगानिस्तान र माल्दिभ्ससँगै परेको छ । समूहमा साविकको विजेता भारत, श्रीलंका र आयोजक बंगलादेश छन् । पाकिस्तान र भुटानले भने यो पटक भाग लिएका छैनन् ।
नेपालले पहिलो खेल सोमबार माल्दिभ्सविरुद्ध खेल्नेछ । अफगानिस्तानसँगको खेल अर्को शुक्रबार छ । मुख्य प्रशिक्षक उपेन्द्रमान सिंहले बंगलादेशमा नेपाली टोलीले राम्रो प्रदर्शन गर्ने विश्वास व्यक्त गरे ।

It’s not just Hollywood cinema that produces characters willing to drive talented youngsters on towards greatness. It’s been fascinating to follow Jose Mourinho’s attempts to coax the very best from Eden Hazard in their two seasons together at Stamford Bridge.
There were challenging moments in that first year. When Hazard lost his passport on an unauthorised overseas trip, Mourinho let it be known that “the apology was not accepted” and stressed that “the group is always more important than any player” at his Chelsea.

Champions League elimination later tested the relationship further with Hazard claiming Chelsea were “not set up to play football” before Mourinho responded that the player was “not ready to sacrifice himself 100 per cent for the team” after failing in his defensive duty.
Second time around, things went more smoothly en route to the Premier League title. And like the family member fond of criticising his relatives only to become fiercely protective when others join in, Mourinho has taken on the role of Hazard’s arch-protector.
“In the Premier League last season Eden was very lucky not to break a leg,” said Mourinho on the eve of the new season. “I would like more protection for him.” His concerns were not without substance. Hazard was the most fouled player in the Premier League in 2014/15.
